REPORT: Bloody Night Convention in Barcelona

I’m sorry for not posting this one any sooner, but I was very tired. I have a very unforgettable and exciting weekend behind and I can’t wait to share my experience with you all

Nate only attended the convention on Sunday. Some of his fans had a chance to see him earlier, when they were exploring Barcelona together. Anyway, Sunday started with Nate’s and Steven’s panel. Their idea was that everytime a fan asks them a question, they come on stage and get a hug, so the queue soon got very long. Who wouldn’t want a hug from those two?

Here are some things we learnt this weekend…

The day before Nate got his role as Kol, he had $20 left. Nothing on his bank account, no money saved. It was the day he thought to himself: “That’s it, I am going back home. I tried so many times but it didn’t work out,” and his plan was to go back to Australia. So the Vampire Diaries really changed his life.

Steven says he can’t imagine the Originals spinoff without Kol in it.

Nate’s favourite childhood memory is related to his mum. When he was much younger, they’d have this terrible car that would often leave weird noises, but his mum would still take him to all basketball games and lessons, making his dreams come true.

He wants to have kids so badly, but first he wants to get married. Any candidates?

His mum called him everyday saying he better be careful of the pickpockets. Nate then told us how when he first got into Buffalo, he’d buy a wallet and put a note into it, and then put it into his back pocket waiting for somebody to steal it.

Nate did all the accents he knows. He didn’t expect to have to do British one on the Vampire Diaries. And wasn’t told about it either. Until he came to set. Luckily Joseph was on set that day so they’ve been practicing “hello brother” together.

He was dancing at the ending ceremony.
