We knew Nathaniel was auditioning and we got some great news to share! He and the British actor Lucien Laviscount got a key role in The CW’s Supernatural spinoff called Tribes (EDITED: Now called Bloodlines, check this post)
Nathaniel has landed the series regular role of David Hayden, a shapeshifter from one of Chicago’s ruling monster families who has been living as a human, “having given up the monster life years ago.”
And Laviscount will play series regular Ennis Roth, a police academy trainee whose fiancée is killed in the crossfire of the monster war. Roth “learns the truth about what lurks in the shadows and becomes a monster-hunter himself.”
While Nathaniel and Lucien’s characters are two leads on the show, it’s said that Bloodlines plays more like an ensemble drama compared to the flagship series, so there are other important roles yet to be filled. The spinoff of the popular show is described as a “sweeping drama about the various mafia-esque monster families that unknowingly-to-humans ‘run’ the underbelly of Chicago and who are being tracked by a newly-minted Hunter who’s trying to stop them and rid Chicago of anything or anyone supernatural.”
They both will make their debut in the upcoming 20th episode of Supernatural on April 29, which will serve as a backdoor pilot of the show.
The majority of the pilot episode will be filmed in Vancouver, where Supernatural is also filmed, but shooting will also take place for three or four days in Chicago in late-March.
Congrats to Nathaniel for landing a role in a new show! Are you excited that we will get to see him again in our screens? Cause we are! We can’t wait!
