Kol is getting his own Vampire Diaries web series
Great news, guys! Nate’s character Kol Mikaelson is getting his own web series! Yes, you heard right! His own web series! Although we still want him to be a lead in The Originals, this is a great thing!
How come this exciting news? BuzzFeed just published an article giving everyone a day-in-the-life perspective of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals executive producer Julie Plec. Though the article is full of interesting details and insights, it was the revelation that Julie is developing a web series for Kol that really jumped out. Jarett Wieselman mentions that, during the course of the day, Julie “approve[s] ideas for an upcoming web series starring Nathaniel Buzolic’s character, Kol” and mentions that “the web series is developing nicely.” Talk about burying the lede!
Kol has been a fan favorite since he first appeared on The Vampire Diaries as yet another emotionally-unstable and ridiculously good-looking Mikaelson. He was killed off in Season 4, but came back as a ghost in Season 5. He didn’t appear to make it in the collapse of the Other Side in the TVD Season 5 finale, but we still have our fingers crossed. We know he will be appearing in flashback form in The Originals’ Season 2, Episode 2 ‘Alive and Kicking’ (check this post). Will this serve as a launch for Kol’s web series? And will the web series be taking place entirely in the past or did Kol somehow cheat death — again? We will have to wait and see!
Isn’t that awesome? Are you as excited as we are to hear Kol will be getting his own web series? Let us know what you think about it!
